We aim to provide a sustainable economic solution for rural agricultural communities while at the same time providing a platform for private business to enter rural undeveloped areas.

Everything that we do to this end, revolve around the following three trends:

Establishment of collection points in-between existing plantation to collect feedstock from current farmers; (allows for immediate operations and basic economic development)

Development and Implementation of the settlers model, where new farmers are equipped, trained and mentored to cultivate new plantations; (facilitates the extensive social/economic development)

Establishment of commercial plantations under direct control of Hende Wayela. (ensures the profits for the investors)

Through the fusion of corporate interests and truly sustainable development needs in this project, many opportunities arise – both for lucrative businesses and for true development. Hende Wayela ensures that both are attained.

Hende Wayela’s extensive experience in the field indicated that any long-term sustainable vegetable oil or bio-diesel endeavour had to include a long-term feedstock development programme. A rural agricultural feedstock development strategy has been formalised focussing on the development of the rural communities and resources. This strategy has subsequently been named the Hende Mozambique Project, which was approved by government.
